What can you do during your stay at Camping ?

Nestled in the heart of Berry, the Petit Bois campsite is the perfect starting point to explore a region rich in heritage, nature, and local flavors. With charming villages, outdoor activities, and cultural discoveries, here’s what awaits you around Henrichemont!

Henrichemont, a town steeped in history

Founded in the 17th century by Maximilien de Béthune, Duke of Sully, Henrichemont is an urban planning gem designed as an ideal city. Stroll through its narrow streets and admire its unique architecture, including the Saint-Laurian Church and the Market Square, where enjoying a coffee on the terrace is a must.

Village of La Borne

Just five minutes from the campsite, La Borne is a major hub of contemporary ceramics. This artists’ village, a paradise for potters, is home to numerous workshops and the famous Maison de la Céramique, where you can admire stunning creations—and perhaps take home a handmade souvenir! Beware: high risk of falling in love with art!

Château de Menetou-Salon

Fancy playing the lord or lady of the manor for a day? The Château de Menetou-Salon, still inhabited by the Duke of Sully’s descendants, welcomes you for a journey through time. As a bonus, enjoy a tasting of the estate’s wine—because a trip to Berry without a good glass of Menetou-Salon just wouldn’t be complete!

City of Bourges

A stay in Henrichemont wouldn’t be complete without a detour to Bourges, just 30 minutes from the campsite. From the majestic UNESCO-listed Saint-Étienne Cathedral to the medieval streets of the historic center, its charm is instant. A cultural highlight: the Palais Jacques-Cœur, a true Gothic masterpiece, is well worth a visit.

Activités sportives et de pleine air

If you feel the call of nature during your stay, head to the Forêt Domaniale de Vierzon, a lush green haven perfect for hiking or cycling. With a bit of luck, you might spot a deer or a squirrel playing hide and seek! A true breath of fresh air. For water lovers, the Cher River, just a few kilometers from the campsite, invites you to unwind with water activities. Whether it’s canoeing, paddleboarding, or simply enjoying a picnic by the water, everything is set for a peaceful escape. Pro tip: wait until sunset for postcard-perfect photos!

Berry’s gastronomy and culinary delights

Because no visit to Berry is complete on an empty stomach, this region’s delicious specialties are a must-try. Stop by an artisanal cheese shop to sample the famous Crottin de Chavignol, best enjoyed with a glass of Sancerre. Still hungry? Try Berry-style potato pancakes or poirat, a sweet pear-filled pie. A true delight!

Less than 30 minutes from Henrichemont, make a stop at the Onlycamp Les Pins campsite in Nançay, a charming little town in the Cher region. And if you feel like going further, head to the Onlycamp La Varenne campsite in Loir-et-Cher, just an hour from Henrichemont!
